At Old Faithful and Friends Shuttle and Tours, we're not just about providing exciting excursions; we’re deeply committed to preserving the beauty of our local environment. This year, we kicked off our annual commitment to keeping our natural spaces clean with our first cleanup of 2025. The mission? To take part in protecting the Missouri River Headwaters State Park by collecting trash and making a positive impact on our community and the wildlife that calls this area home.

Cleaning Up the Missouri River Headwaters State Park
Our cleanup took place in the heart of the Missouri River Headwaters State Park, a cherished location where the mighty Missouri River begins its long journey. Our team focused on clearing the half of the park. Armed with gloves, trash bags, and an unwavering determination to make a difference, we collected 11 bags of trash.
It’s amazing how much litter can accumulate, even in areas that are meant to be protected. From plastic bottles and wrappers to discarded fishing gear, we worked hard to ensure that the natural beauty of this place remained intact for both locals and visitors. This cleanup was not only a way to make the park safer for wildlife but also to ensure the landscape remains a peaceful retreat for all who visit.

A Moose Sighting to Remember
While cleaning up the park, our team was fortunate enough to encounter one of the park's most iconic residents: a moose. As we were working near the river, we spotted the large, majestic animal moving through the brush. It reminded us why these cleanups are so important. We’re not just protecting the land; we’re safeguarding the habitats of the wildlife that live here.
It was an awe-inspiring reminder of how precious our local ecosystems are and why we’re passionate about keeping them clean.
Why We Do It
At Old Faithful and Friends, we know that preserving the environment is not just about one-off cleanups—it’s about creating lasting change and fostering a community ethos of environmental responsibility. Each cleanup event is a chance to roll up our sleeves, get our hands dirty, and do our part to protect the incredible landscapes that make our area so special.
Our efforts extend beyond just these cleanups. Every shuttle ride and tour we offer is a chance to engage with our customers and share the importance of keeping nature pristine. Whether it’s through the riverside tours we offer or the hiking adventures that take people deep into the heart of the park, we’re always looking for ways to connect people to nature and the significance of environmental stewardship.

Looking Ahead
The Missouri River Headwaters State Park is just one of the many incredible places we aim to protect this year. We’re already planning future cleanups and ways to continue making a positive impact on our community and the natural world.
We want to thank everyone who joined us for our first cleanup this year. Your hard work and dedication made a huge difference, and we couldn’t have done it without you. Stay tuned for more updates, and we hope to see even more of you at our future events. Together, we can keep our local parks clean, beautiful, and wild for generations to come.
Until next time, stay wild, stay clean, and let’s continue to make the world a better place—one cleanup at a time!
